Original Four is based in the heart of Leicester's thriving bar scene, an imposing four storey building found at the top of trendy King Street. With a ground floor bar, 2 dedicated dancefloors and a cocktail lounge, Original Four is Leicester’s premier late night music venue. Saturdays cater for quality club music hosted by guest nights including Shivoo, Junk and Spectrum. Past guests at O4 include the likes of Justice, Digitalism, DJ Format, Switch, Mr C, Rob Da Bank, The Freestylers, A-Skillz, Annie Mac and Tom Middleton. The beauty of the venue lies in its intimacy, with clubbers being able to interact with their heroes across jam packed rooms, as opposed to huge stages in soulless arenas. Fridays are a mash-up of sounds; each week sees the excellent jazz-funk band The Freestyle Collective play Live and Soulism feature weekly in the bijou and intimate surroundings of the cocktail lounge. They provide a back-drop of US Garage, Soul, Funk and more from some of Leicester’s most educated spinners. Also look out for Mint and Organic hosting the dancefloor on the first and last Friday of the month respectively. Thursdays Rock! Leicestar style! Every Thursday is our student based indie/rock night Leicestar Rocks! Launching on October 4th with Stone Roses / Primal Scream legend Mani. Its aims are to combine rock& roll with DJs, VJS, Live Bands, decks and sex, with discounted drinks & cheap entry for NUS/NHS. From Sunday to Tuesday O4 becomes a student’s best friend, with three, yes three, discounted drinks nights. It’s a 99p thing every Sunday, as O4 asks you to party on (& party hard), on the lords day of rest. Mondays are ALT “a nu night for the raver, rocker, party popper and anything goer!” with indie, new wave, electro, breaks, hip-hop, beats and treats across 3 rooms.
